Production and characterization of biomass briquettes from Bambusa bambos
نویسندگان
چکیده
Known for its versatility and fast growth, bamboo is a perennial plant. Bamboo noted expanding rapidly; some types may do so by several feet in single day. A prototype hydraulic piston briquette machine was used to process the samples, which were obtained from Forest College Research Institute Mettupalayam, India. The briquettes made Bambusa bambos had various ratios of lantana camara sawdust. Different combinations bambos' measured physico-thermochemical examination.Based on moisture content (5.13%), ash (4.97%), volatile matter (73.19%), fixed carbon (16.71%), bulk density (0.342 g cm3), gross calorific value (3913.5 kcal kg-1), current study deduces that with combination 50:25:25 bambos, camara, sawdust gave better performance.

Characterization and Production of Fuel Briquettes Made from Biomass and Plastic Wastes
In this study, the physical properties of briquettes produced from two different biomass feedstocks (sawdust and date palm trunk) and different plastic wastes, without using any external binding agent, were investigated. The biomass feedstocks were blended with different ratios of two waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) plastics (halogen-free wire and printed circuit boards (P...

Today, renewable energy source of power generation has become very promising. As we know that conventional or non-renewable source of energies are very limited and are depleting very rapidly. Increasing energy needs of the world and continually growing population there is a power demand gap and it needs alternate sources of energy. So, there is a view to generate more and more power from renewa...
متن کاملAccessibility of Enzymatically Delignified Bambusa bambos for Efficient Hydrolysis at Minimum Cellulase Loading: An Optimization Study
In the present investigation, Bambusa bambos was used for optimization of enzymatic pretreatment and saccharification. Maximum enzymatic delignification achieved was 84%, after 8 h of incubation time. Highest reducing sugar yield from enzyme-pretreated Bambusa bambos was 818.01 mg/g dry substrate after 8 h of incubation time at a low cellulase loading (endoglucanase, β-glucosidase, exoglucanase...
متن کاملPhysiochemical Characterization of Briquettes Made from Different Feedstocks
Densification of biomass can address handling, transportation, and storage problems and also lend itself to an automated loading and unloading of transport vehicles and storage systems. The purpose of this study is to compare the physicochemical properties of briquettes made from different feedstocks. Feedstocks such as corn stover, switchgrass, prairie cord grass, sawdust, pigeon pea grass, an...

The aim of this study is to prepare a solid fuel from the most abundant biomass of Morocco that can be used by the local population, and in particular by the rural ones, instead of the wood of forest, which is less available and its exploitation is negative for the environment. Esparto is the most available biomass, with a production of 560000 tons annually of dry matter approximately. However,...
